My Short Trip To Goa

Parasailing...(this is not me)

Parasailing…(this is not me)

Hi guys! Sorry about not being regular with my posts. Actually, I was looking for a topic to write about. I did not want to write about how I spent the week, because I agree that it is boring. After many days, I finally got a topic to write about- My Trip To Goa.

We went to Goa, mainly because of my father since he had an office party in that particular hotel. I have gone to Goa earlier, but when I was really small. Therefore, I hardly rememeber anything about it. Our trip was from 20th-24th of May.

We reached the airport early in the morning at 8:30 A.M, quickly finished all the airport rules and regulations and boarded our flight.  I find flights very painful. No matter how many times I yawn, how many times I swallow my saliva, my ears are always blocked. I fail to realise how this happens only to me and the there I am, nearly deaf and not being able to associate a single word of the whispering air hostess and my parents and younger sister can practically start a free flowing conversation with them. Why me? Anyway, we reached Goa and had to spend another two hours in a bus ride in order to reach the hotel. The whole journey was really tiring and we reached the hotel itself at 3:00 P.M.  We had a quick lunch, checked into our room, and rested. Later in the evening, we visited our campus beach with one of my father’s colleagues and his family with whom we explored Goa for the rest of the trip. We enjoyed the cool wind, made sand castles(more of sand mountains) and stomped on them(I know what you are thinking). We stayed there for about two hours and then went back to our room and had a good night sleep.

The next day, we did sight seeing in Goa. I would like to call it- The Goa Expedition. We all (all as in with my father’s colleague and his family) left the hotel after eating breakfast at around 9:00 A.M and returned at 9:00 P.M. What we did you’re asking? Well, I’ll tell you. We visited three churches, in which one of them consisted of a dead body of a priest named St. Xavier Francis. Following that, the Sahakari Spice Plantation, Dona Paula point, the point where a couple suicided because their families were not letting them marry and is a very famous love story in Goa, compared to Shakespear’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’. After that we went for a cruise ride. Well, I  would not like to go into the details, because it was a pretty bad experience. Instead of playing some soft, classical Goa music and letting us enjoy the beautiful sunset, they played rock music or something and did not let us do any of the above. I was nearly deaf after the cruise ride and was relieved after it ended.

The next day, we did some in-campus sports like darts, archery, rifle shooting and paintball. We enjoyed quite a lot. At lunch time, I was surprised to meet my classmate and his younger sister. They were also my childhood friends since I was three or four. After lunch all of us went swimming (not the adults, only the kids) and played a game of ‘Find the Penny in Water’. Later in the evening, all of us attended the party, because of which we were actually present in Goa that moment. We had dinner and slept.

The morning of 23rd was certainly an exciting one. My father’s office had planned some team games for us. I was expecting our team to win, but sadly, my friend’s team won, but it was a lot of fun. After completing the team games, we went to the beach to do some water activities. We only did parasailing, because after that, my mother began to feel a bit seasick. Parasailing was such a new experience to me. When I was young, like all other little girls, I had always wanted to fly like a fairy. Even though I did not want that anymore, it felt as if my wish came true. In the air, I could see miles and miles of the never ending sea and the cool sea breeze hitting my face. It seemed magical. After lunch,  my friend and I attended some in campus activities like rock climbing and rapelling. I also did another round of darts, paintball, archery and rifle shooting. In the evening, my friend’s father had to attend a party, so he and his sister spent the rest of the evening with us. We had some sandwiches and also went to visit the beach one last time, since we had to go back to Gurgaon the next day.

The next morning, we had an early flight and checked out of our hotel at 7:30 A.M, took the two hour bus ride to the airport, suffered on the flight and finally reached home.

My Goa trip was certainly a very tiring and exciting one, filled with activities each day. Maybe I enjoyed the trip because there were loads of kids I had to take care of. Yes, including my friend and his sister. But I have lots of memories to keep with me, the ones I will cherish later in my life.
